June is finally here, and that can only mean one thing… Milkapalooza is near! Come join us on Saturday, June 22 from 10-3 down on the farm.
Have you ever wondered where your milk comes from? Now you have a chance to see and meet your cow! Walk in the pasture that feeds our 100% grass-fed cows. See the creamery that pasteurizes and bottles your favorite products from Cedar Summit. The best part is, it’s all free (except for lunch, which includes vegan and gluten-free options). This is truly a family friendly event.
Our “cow crawl” is a place for kids to learn about our food system and how everything works symbiotically together. We will have the return of children’s author Gordon Fredrickson, who will be reading his stories about rural America. Music from Broken V and friends and food by Cedar Summit ourselves! Our marketplace is a great place to shop local. Soap? We got it. Dog chew toys made from milking tubes? They are here. Muesli, turkey, cheese? You know it! This year we are excited to have the help of Full Circle Organics to compost nearly all of our trash and are trying to make this a zero waste event! If you would like to know more about organic certification, the GMO labeling campaign, preserving agriculture and the environment, and more, we will have exhibitors from different organizations that we work with to answer any and all of your questions.
Come join in the fun!
